Driven by hundreds of print and televised news stories that span 50+ years, multiple best selling books, documentary movies and a singular research archive at Harvard University
The Mercury Tragedy Project is a multimedia storytelling project that will emotionally engulf the public in the reality of a human-made disaster of uncommon proportions, awakening a profound recognition of the vigilance required to care for our precious global commons.
The source materials to tell this story exist only due to the meticulous record-keeping and research of Marion Lamm. So powerful and comprehensive was this research that in 1997 Harvard University acquired Mrs. Lamm’s library. Since then, it has been rigorously archived and catalogued, permitting low-cost adaptation into the components of the Mercury Tragedy Project.
The mercury tragedy stands not just as a powerful example of the broader need for rigorous environmental vigilance, but also as an emotional, heroic story of early truth tellers, fighting for justice, remediation, and accountability.

"I absolutely loved this book. The story was incredibly captivating, and the characters were so engaging even for an adult reading it to children. This is a wonderfully written story of the effect of industrial pollution contaminating the waters of the indigenous communities and conveys hope that our young people today can have an impact on creating a better world for themselves and their community.”
L. Rigby,

"I can imagine I would have been enthralled by the journey had I read it as a child. I can alreadythink of children who will devour this in one sitting, and then nag me for another."

"A really good story … the description of Ball Lake Lodge triggered happy memories of how life was pre-mercury."
